What to know about Coway Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH

The original Coway Mighty, still widely sold and now usually discounted. RTINGS named it the budget pick in its pets guide, and it is Wirecutter's longtime pick (now runner-up to the Mighty2). It has a washable pre-filter, separate carbon and HEPA filters, and an ionizer you can switch off. A good value bedroom purifier for pet owners on a budget.

Its separate carbon filter lets you replace the carbon about every 6 months without discarding the HEPA, which lasts about 12 months. HouseFresh found generic filters for as little as $15 to $20. The ionizer can be switched off. The CADR certificate lists 9 ppb ozone, and HouseFresh measured no rise over 3 hours.
