What to know about Battery Tender 022-0148-DL-WH

Four independent 1.25A charging circuits in one IP65 unit for maintaining up to four 12V batteries at once. It is the collector's or multi-vehicle garage pick for winter storage. Expensive, with only a 2-year warranty.

Why we like it

If you store several vehicles, one plug and four independent banks are tidier than a pile of single chargers. Each bank runs its own 1.25A circuit, so a full battery on one does not affect another. The Drive's 2023 maintainer guide names it Best Overall and says it can maintain a car, truck, SUV or power boat, and Road & Track picks it for multiple batteries.

It is IP65 rated, ETL/cETL listed and CEC/DOE compliant. Amazon shows it in stock now, but it has often sold out, so buy early in the fall.

What to know

Skip it if you store one or two vehicles. Lithium support is stated inconsistently by the manufacturer, and the warranty is only two years. Two-vehicle owners could consider the NOCO GENIUS2X2, which costs less but has no independent test.
