The Best Chocolate Advent Calendars of 2026
Five chocolate advent calendars that ship to US buyers before December 1, from a craft-chocolate keepsake to a budget two-pack for kids.
We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Our editorial rankings are maintained separately from retailer relationships.
A chocolate advent calendar is a small daily promise for 24 days. The good ones deliver a different piece behind every door. The weak ones repeat the same milk chocolate bite and cost more than they should.
This guide covers five calendars that US shoppers can get before December 1, 2026. One is a preorder that ships in early to mid November. The other four are in stock on Amazon and sold by Amazon. Prices run from budget to premium, so there is a fit for a toddler's countdown, an office gift or a serious chocolate lover.
Our top pick is Dandelion Chocolate's 2026 calendar. Godiva is the easier, cheaper way to get a gourmet box without a preorder. Kinder is the value pick for households with two kids.

Dandelion Chocolate 2026 Advent Calendar (Calendar for One)
25 one-off confections from 24 chocolatiers, in boxes you will reuse as ornaments
Full product review →
A craft-chocolate collaboration calendar with illustrated ornament boxes, a storybook and a keepsake star. It is sold direct and made for people who care more about discovery than volume.
Why we like it
Taste of Home tested the 2026 edition hands-on and named it Best Overall. Reviewed and CNN Underscored also recommend it. The calendar holds 25 exclusive confections from 24 chocolatiers in North America and Japan, so no day repeats.
The experience is part of the draw. Each confection comes in a reusable ornament box illustrated by Lisa Grue. The calendar also includes a Nordic-tales storybook, a keepsake star and 25 nights of daily videos. Dandelion says it ships November 2 to 20, which is before December 1.
What to know
Skip it if you want a big daily portion or a low price. You get one small piece a day, and it is the most expensive pick here.

- Reusable ornament boxes and a keepsake star cut single-use waste
- Storybook and daily videos make it an experience, not just a snack

Godiva 2026 Limited Edition Holiday Advent Calendar, 24 pc (Winter in the City)
24 different Godiva chocolates in a gift-ready box, sold by Amazon with no preorder
Full product review →
A mid-priced gourmet calendar of truffle-style Belgian milk, dark and white chocolates. It suits adults and older kids who want filled pieces without a luxury price.
Why we like it
Five outlets whose pages we read recommend it: Taste of Home (Best Classic), Yahoo (Best Gourmet), NBC Select, Food Network and Reviewed. Yahoo reports the 2026 edition has 24 different chocolates, up from 12 last year. Fillings include ganache, caramel, praline and fruit creams.
It is the practical gourmet option. Amazon sells it directly and has it in stock, and it costs roughly a quarter of Dandelion's price. Taste of Home's tester found the chocolates stayed fresh for weeks.
What to know
Skip it if you want a chocolatier-level experience or a reusable keepsake. It is also pricey per piece next to the mass-market calendars.
Pros
- 24 distinct chocolates across milk, dark and white
- Filled, truffle-style pieces with ganache, caramel and praline
- In stock and sold by Amazon, with no preorder
- Gift-ready box with a ribbon handle
- Wide critical support across five outlets
Cons
- Less upscale than chocolatier calendars, per Taste of Home
- One piece a day, which is costly per piece

- Packaging is not reusable

Kinder Chocolate Countdown 2026 Advent Calendar, 2 Pack (8.8 oz total)
Two identical 24-day calendars for about the price of one cheap gourmet box
Full product review →
A two-pack of kid-friendly Kinder calendars with 48 small filled chocolates in total. It is the lowest cost per door in this guide.
Why we like it
Yahoo named it the best budget chocolate calendar, and Food Network also lists it. Each of the two calendars has 24 pieces, including Kinder Bueno Minis, Mini Friends, Love Hearts and Mini Eggs. Amazon sells the pack directly and has it in stock.
The two-pack solves a common household problem. Each child gets their own calendar, so nobody fights over whose door it is. The cost per door is the lowest in the lineup.
What to know
Skip it if you want gourmet chocolate or flavor variety. This is kid candy, the pieces are very small, and it contains hazelnut.
Pros
- Lowest cost per door in the guide
- Two calendars, so two kids each get their own
- Sold by Amazon and in stock
- Familiar Kinder flavors with milk cream filling
Cons
- Same classic assortment with nothing new
- Very small pieces
- All milk chocolate, aimed at children
- Contains milk and hazelnut

Lindt TEDDY Sleigh Assorted Advent Calendar, 9.3 oz
Lindt's bigger Teddy calendar, with extra pieces behind some doors
Full product review →
A sleigh-shaped Lindt calendar with milk and white chocolate, Lindor truffles and foil-wrapped figures. It offers about twice the chocolate of the smaller Teddy calendar.
Why we like it
This pick rests on one roundup and has no hands-on test. Yahoo calls it the best calendar for variety and reports 35 pieces behind 24 doors. The mix includes Lindor truffles, solid chocolate balls and foil-wrapped figures.
It weighs 9.3 ounces and is sold by Amazon, in stock. Lindt's smaller 4.5 ounce Teddy calendar holds about half as much chocolate and currently costs about as much from a third-party seller. For families, the extra chocolate and the Lindor truffles are the draw.
What to know
Skip it if you want dark chocolate or a gourmet-level experience. It is mostly milk chocolate, and the evidence for it comes from a single roundup.
Pros
- More chocolate per day, with some days offering extras
- Includes Lindor truffles
- Sold by Amazon and in stock
- Sleigh-shaped box looks festive
Cons
- Mostly milk chocolate
- Support comes from a single roundup, with no hands-on testing
- Packaging is not reusable

Why we like it
It is sold by Amazon at a low price. It gives you milk, dark and white chocolate, each with honey-almond nougat. Yahoo (Best Classic), NBC Select and Food Network all recommend it. That support is roundup-only, with no hands-on testing.
For anyone who already likes Toblerone, it delivers the familiar triangle bars in miniature, one a day. Among the budget calendars, it is the only one in our lineup with dark and white chocolate alongside milk.

- Sold by Amazon

How we review advent calendars
PickMetric's picks come from research, not our own tasting. We read independent tests and roundups from Taste of Home, Yahoo Shopping, NBC Select, Food Network, Reviewed, CNN Underscored, AOL, The Kitchn and others. We compared them against manufacturer specs, retailer listings and owner feedback. Every calendar had to be available to US buyers and ship before December 1.
We scored each calendar on six criteria. Taste and quality carry the most weight (30 percent), then value (20 percent), variety and no repeats (15 percent), presentation and daily experience (15 percent), freshness and availability (10 percent) and health, ingredients and materials (10 percent). Chocolate that tastes ordinary is not saved by nice packaging, and a good calendar still has to be easy to buy.
How We Picked
We started with 13 chocolate advent calendars and built a shortlist from independent tests, roundups and buying guides. Sources included Taste of Home, Yahoo Shopping, NBC Select, Food Network, Reviewed, CNN Underscored, AOL, Sporked, The Kitchn and Today. We compared those against manufacturer specs, retailer listings and owner feedback. Our editor set one firm rule: a calendar must ship in the US before December 1.
We scored each calendar on taste and quality, value, variety, presentation, freshness and availability, and health and materials. Each pick was then challenged in a structured review before publication.
That review changed the lineup. Kinder's two-pack became our Best Value pick, because it scores best on value and costs less per door than the Lindt calendar that held the label first. The Lindt Sleigh was relabeled Best for More Chocolate Per Day. Dandelion, which has hands-on 2026 testing, was ranked above the Lindt Sleigh, which rests on a single roundup. Tony's Chocolonely was dropped because we could not confirm a fair US price for the 2026 edition.
What to Look For
Piece count and repeats
Most calendars have 24 doors, but not 24 different chocolates. Some repeat a few flavors on a loop. Godiva's 2026 edition has 24 different pieces, and Dandelion has 25 one-off confections. Check the product description for the words no repeats.
Portion size
Most calendars give one small piece a day. Lindt's Sleigh has 35 pieces behind 24 doors, so some days bring extras. Dandelion's single calendar is one piece a day, and a two-person version exists.
Chocolate types
Many budget calendars are all milk chocolate. If you want dark or white, look at Toblerone, Godiva or Dandelion. Kinder is milk chocolate with cream filling.
Shipping and sell-out risk
Dandelion is a preorder that ships November 2 to 20 and tends to sell out. The Amazon picks are in stock now. Chocolate can melt in transit, so avoid leaving a package on a warm porch.
Packaging and keepsake value
Most calendars are cardboard and plastic trays that you throw away. Dandelion's ornament boxes are designed to be reused as decorations.
Health, Materials & Safety
Allergens
Every calendar here contains milk. Kinder contains hazelnut, and Toblerone contains almonds. Dandelion lists milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts and several tree nuts including almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios and walnuts. Check the label of the exact calendar you buy, especially for Godiva and Lindt, where allergen details can vary by edition.
Heavy metals in chocolate
Consumer Reports found measurable lead and cadmium in every dark chocolate bar it tested in 2022. Its 2023 tests found milk chocolate had the lowest levels of the categories tested. Brand-specific results for these calendars were not published in the coverage we read. A daily piece of chocolate over 24 days is a small seasonal exposure. Buyers who want to keep intake low can lean toward the milk chocolate calendars, such as Kinder and Lindt.
Packaging and preservatives
Dandelion's boxes are designed for reuse, and Taste of Home reports the calendar has no preservatives. That also means the pieces are best eaten promptly.
Other Chocolate Advent Calendars We Considered
See's Candies 2026 Advent Calendar
The best mid-priced option if you are willing to order direct. It is on preorder on sees.com, ships in November and has reusable pull-out drawers. AOL's hands-on review covers the 2025 edition. It missed our picks because the 2026 evidence is thinner than Dandelion's. Buy only from sees.com, because look-alike scam sites advertise the calendar at very low prices.
Lindt Teddy Advent Calendar, 4.5 oz
The consensus budget calendar and a good buy at or below its list price of about $18.99. The only current offer we verified is from a third-party Amazon seller at a much higher price, so we did not pick it. Check Walmart or Lindt for a better price.
Lindt Sweater Teddy, 7.2 oz
Overlaps with the Lindt Sleigh, and only one roundup mentions it.
Compartés Enchanted Castle
Its 12 flavors repeat twice across the calendar, and it is expensive per piece.
Vosges Haut-Chocolat
Showed as sold out in late October, so we can't confirm it ships before December 1. It is also very expensive.
Venchi Prestige
The 2026 edition's US availability is unclear, so it doesn't meet our shipping rule.
Madelaine 8 oz
Solid milk chocolate only, sold by a third-party seller, and supported by a single roundup.
Tony's Chocolonely Countdown
We couldn't confirm a 2026 US edition at a fair price.

Dandelion has 25 different confections, and Yahoo reports Godiva's 2026 edition has 24 different chocolates. Kinder, Lindt and Toblerone use smaller assortments of recurring flavors.

Order soon, because popular calendars sell through in November.
