What to know about APEC Water Systems ROES-50 (Essence Series)

A classic tank-based 5-stage, 50 GPD RO system with no power needed. TechGearLab's Best Buy for under-sink RO: it removed 100% of total PFAS and lead in Tap Score testing at about $75 a year in filters. Downsides are 3:1 wastewater, a bulky tank and a harder install.

It is the choice if you want fluoride, arsenic or TDS removal on a budget and have the cabinet space.

What to know

Skip it if certification matters. Its WQA certification covers NSF 58 system performance, not PFAS, so it ranks below every certified pick. Also skip it if you can't give up cabinet space or dislike wasted water.
