What to know about Nordic Ware 43100 (Amazon: 43100AMZ)

An uncoated, USA-made pure-aluminum half sheet with an encapsulated galvanized steel rim to resist warping. It is the consensus best-overall baking sheet in independent tests (ATK winner, Reviewed best overall, Taste of Home best aluminum). Also sold as a 2-pack (ASIN B0049C2S32).

Why we like it

This is the consensus winner in independent testing: America's Test Kitchen's top pick, Reviewed's best overall and Taste of Home's best aluminum, and NBC Select and Prudent Reviews recommend it too. Nordic Ware's baking-sheet FAQ states that its Naturals aluminum bakeware is made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA and Teflon, and that the sheets are uncoated. With no coating touching your food, there is nothing that could contain PFAS.

It has an encapsulated steel rim to resist warping, is safe to 500°F, and weighs about 1.5 pounds. It is made in the USA with a lifetime warranty and is modestly priced. The Amazon offer is from a third-party seller, so compare Walmart and Target, which carry the same model.

What to know

Skip it if you hate lining pans. Food sticks to bare aluminum, and burnt-on grease takes scrubbing. Aluminum also reacts with acidic foods.
