The Best Robot Vacuum & Mop Combos for Pet Hair of 2026
Five robot vacuum and mop combos that handle shedding, hair wrap and muddy paw prints, from a flagship all-rounder to a hard-floor specialist.
We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Our editorial rankings are maintained separately from retailer relationships.
Pet hair is where robot vacuums succeed or fail. It packs into carpet, wraps around brushrolls and ends up in the dock. Add muddy paws and the mop has to work too.
Combos that vacuum and mop are a good fit for pet homes, but they are not equal. Some pull hair from carpet with no wrap at all. Others mop beautifully and struggle on rugs. The right choice depends on your floors, your pet's coat and how much clutter is on the ground.
We compared 16 models and narrowed them to five. Each one has a self-emptying dock with hot-water mop washing and drying, and each earns its place for a specific kind of pet household.

Compare two picks side by side
Roborock Saros 20
The most complete pet-hair combo, if you can pay flagship money
Full product review →
Roborock's 2026 flagship uses a lifting chassis to clear obstacles that stop other robots. It pairs that with above-average mopping and a self-cleaning dock.
Why we like it
The Saros 20 has the broadest support of any pick here. Tom's Guide names it its top pet-hair choice, TechRadar recommends it for carpet and pet hair, and Reviewed calls it the best robot vacuum-mop overall. Vacuum Wars measured 88% flattened pet-hair pickup against an 82% average, and 0% hair wrap. TechRadar found it removed nearly all dog hair from mid-pile carpet after four passes.
It mops well, too. Vacuum Wars scored dried-stain removal at 116 against a 94 average while using little water. The robot climbed a 57 mm threshold, a record in that lab's testing, on a body just over 3 inches tall. The dock auto-empties, washes mops with water up to 212°F, dries them with warm air, refills the tank and doses detergent.
What to know
Skip it if you want to spend less. Its obstacle avoidance is only slightly above average, and the small bin means more dock trips.
Pros
- Record 57 mm threshold climb in lab testing
- 89% embedded-sand pickup on carpet
- 0% hair wrap
- Above-average mopping score
- Self-emptying, mop-washing and drying dock
Cons
- Avoided 17 of 24 obstacles
- Below-average coverage per charge
- Small 260 mL bin
- Tom's Guide reported leftover litter; premium price from a third-party seller

Roborock Saros Z70
A Roborock flagship with a sock-moving arm at a much lower price
Full product review →
A 3.14-inch-tall robot with 22,000 Pa suction and an OmniGrip arm that moves small items out of its path. The dock empties the bin and washes and dries the mops.
Why we like it
RTINGS names the Z70 the best robot vacuum for pet hair it has tested, and says its brushroll picks up pet hair better than the Saros 10R's. Note that the RTINGS review is now more than a year old. The OmniGrip arm clears socks and other small items, which suits homes where toys and clutter end up on the floor.
It shares the Saros slim body and StarSight navigation, and a dock that hot-washes and dries the mops. It costs far less than the Saros 20, so you get much of the same system for about the price of a premium mid-range model.
What to know
Skip it if your pet is long-haired and you have deep carpet. RTINGS says hair tangles on the brushroll more easily, with a pet-hair score of 7.5.
Pros
- RTINGS named it its best for pet hair among models it tested
- OmniGrip arm moves socks and small items
- Slim 3.14-inch body
- Hot-water mop washing and drying
- Much cheaper than the Saros 20
Cons
- The arm bay forced a smaller bin and brushroll, so more dock trips
- Long hair can tangle on the brushroll
- Reviewed says the arm sometimes fumbles objects and slows cleaning
- Smaller water tank

Dreame L60 Ultra PE
Flagship-level hair pickup for roughly $1,000, if you can live with weaker mopping
Full product review →
A pet-focused Dreame with 30,000 Pa suction, an anti-tangle DuoBrush and a dock that washes mops in boiling water. It is the value pick for hair pickup.
Why we like it
Vacuum Wars measured 100% flattened pet-hair pickup against an 82% average, and 0% hair wrap in its 7-inch test. Its carpet deep clean of 94% was second-highest among nearly 200 robots, and it avoided 21 of 24 obstacles. The ranking page for Vacuum Wars shows 94% for flattened hair, so expect strong but not perfect results. Most of this evidence comes from a single lab.
The dock auto-empties, refills, doses detergent, washes mops in boiling water and dries them with hot air. The app supports Matter. It costs hundreds less than the Saros 20 and is sold by Amazon.
What to know
Skip it if mopping matters as much as vacuuming. Water output is low, and stain removal scored 85 against a 108 average.
Pros
- Measured 100% flattened pet-hair pickup and 0% wrap
- 94% carpet deep clean
- Good obstacle avoidance at 21 of 24
- Boiling-water mop wash and hot-air drying
- Matter support, and much cheaper than the flagships
Cons
- Below-average dried-stain removal
- Measured threshold climb of only 19 mm
- Small dustbin
- One reviewer says the dock struggles with heavy hair loads

Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete
The pick for low sofas, tall thresholds and rugs
Full product review →
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is an evidence-qualified full-service combo for buyers seeking a docked vacuum-and-mop workflow.
Why we like it
Vacuum Wars measured 100% flattened pet-hair pickup, 0% wrap and 89% carpet sand pickup. It scored 136 for stain removal against a 93 average and avoided 22 of 24 obstacles. It climbed a 51 mm threshold.
The body is slim enough for low furniture, and the mops lift to keep rugs dry. The dock combines a big bag with boiling-water washing and hot-air drying.
What to know
Skip it if you are watching your budget. It is the most expensive pick, and navigation efficiency was below average.
Pros
- Full-service vacuum-and-mop workflow
- Direct testing and separate hands-on coverage
- Evidence-qualified buyer fit
Cons
- High water consumption has been reported
- Mop-pad detachment may require intervention
- Ownership-risk topics remain not assessed

Narwal Flow 2
A hard-floor specialist for muddy paw prints
Full product review →
A 31,000 Pa Narwal with a heated, self-rinsing FlowWash track mop, dual 1080p cameras and a Pet Care Mode. It is built for mopping first.
Why we like it
Reviewed names the Flow 2 the best robot vacuum-mop for pet owners. The track mop rinses itself continuously with heated water, which suits fresh paw prints on tile and wood. Dual cameras help it spot obstacles. On hardwood, Tom's Guide scored its pet-hair pickup 100.
The cheaper Narwal Freo 20 may be worth watching, but it has no published tests yet.
What to know
Skip it if you have carpet and a shedding pet. Tom's Guide scored carpet pet-hair pickup just 80 and said performance misses the mark for the price.
Pros
- Heated, continuously rinsed track mop
- Perfect 100 hardwood pet-hair score at Tom's Guide
- Dual 1080p cameras and Pet Care Mode
- Reviewed's pick for pet owners
Cons
- Weaker on carpet
- Expensive for its performance
- Needs Narwal's own cleaning solution, an ongoing cost
- Automatic water refill and drain is a separate configuration

How we review robot vacuums
PickMetric's picks come from research across independent lab tests, reviews from publications such as Vacuum Wars, RTINGS, Tom's Guide, TechRadar and Reviewed, manufacturer spec sheets and owner feedback. We also checked government recall listings. We do not run our own hands-on tests.
We scored each robot on nine criteria. Cleaning performance carries the most weight, with a focus on measured pet-hair pickup and hair wrap. Navigation and mopping come next, followed by obstacle avoidance, dock automation and maintenance. App features, noise and value count for less. Every pick then went through a structured review that challenged its evidence, price and ranking before publication.
How We Picked
We started with 16 robot vacuum and mop combos and compared lab measurements, reviews from RTINGS, Vacuum Wars, Tom's Guide, TechRadar, Reviewed and Consumer Reports, manufacturer specs and owner feedback. We weighted measured pet-hair pickup and hair wrap most heavily, then mopping, navigation, obstacle avoidance, the dock and maintenance.
Every pick was then challenged in a structured review. Two changes came out of it. The Best Value award first went to a cheaper eufy model, but its price came from a short-lived sale. At the current price the Dreame L60 Ultra PE offered more, so it took the award and the eufy was dropped. The Roborock Saros Z70 also moved up above the L60 Ultra PE, and cleaning scores were lowered where evidence came mostly from one lab.
The ranking rewards balanced performance. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete scores close to the Z70 on our criteria, but it sits lower because of its price and single-lab support.
What to Look For
Hair wrap resistance
Measured hair wrap tells you how often you will cut hair off the brush. Look for anti-tangle brushrolls and tests showing wrap near 0%. This matters most for long-haired pets and people.
Your floor type
Carpet needs strong suction and a brush that lifts embedded hair. Hard floors reward better mops. Most homes need both, so check how the mop lifts on carpet.
Threshold and clearance
A slim body fits under sofas and beds, where hair collects. Check the real measured threshold climb, since manufacturer claims can be higher than test results.
Obstacle avoidance
Cameras help robots avoid socks, cords and pet accidents. Models with laser-line detection only are riskier around pet waste.
The dock
Auto-emptying, hot-water mop washing, drying and detergent dosing cut the chores. Heavy shedders fill bags faster, so a larger dock bag helps. Onboard bins on these robots are small, which means more dock trips.
Ongoing costs
Bags, mop pads, filters and proprietary cleaning solution add up. The Narwal Flow 2 relies on its own solution.
Health, Materials & Safety
We found no recalls for any of the five picks in CPSC vacuum recall listings, checked in October 2026.
Docks that wash mops with very hot water and dry them with warm air help keep mop pads from staying damp between runs. The Saros 20 dock washes at up to 212°F and also dries its dust bag. The Dreame docks use boiling-temperature washing with hot-air drying, and the Narwal Flow 2 uses hot water and warm air.
The Saros 20 uses disposable dock dust bags, and the Flow 2 needs its own cleaning solution, both ongoing consumables. If you want to limit upkeep and waste, factor those in.
Other Robot Vacuum & Mop Combos for Pet Hair We Considered
Roborock Saros 10R: Priced like the Saros 20, and RTINGS says the Saros 20 is better on carpet and pet hair.
eufy Omni C28: At its current price it is not good value next to the Dreame L60 Ultra PE, which tests far better for pet hair. It has only laser-line obstacle avoidance.
Dreame L60 Pro Ultra: Overlaps the L60 Ultra PE, which costs less and tests better for pet hair. Vacuum Wars rates its mopping below average because of excess water.
Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow: Carpet pet-hair pickup was weak across RTINGS, Vacuum Wars and Tom's Guide.
Narwal Freo 20: A cheaper Narwal, but too new to have published test numbers.
Dreame L40 Ultra and Samsung Jet Bot Combo: Consumer Reports recommends both for pet hair, but availability is limited, so we did not include them. Watch for them if they return to stock.
SwitchBot S20: Low price, but it has no camera obstacle detection and cannot lift its mop on carpet, which is a poor fit for pet homes.
FAQ
Do robot vacuum and mop combos work on carpet with pet hair?
Yes, the vacuum does the work on carpet. The best here, like the Saros 20 and Dreame L60 Ultra PE, measured 88% and 100% flattened pet-hair pickup in Vacuum Wars testing. Mops should lift or be retracted over rugs.
How often will I need to empty the dock?
That depends on shedding and bag size. The robot empties into the dock bag automatically, and the dock bag is typically replaced after several weeks. The X60 Max dock has a 3.2 L bag.
Will it avoid pet accidents?
Cameras help. The Dreame X60 Max avoided 22 of 24 obstacles in testing and the L60 Ultra PE avoided 21. Models with laser-line detection only are less reliable around pet waste.
Is the Narwal Flow 2 good for shedding pets?
On hardwood, yes, but not on carpet. It is best for mostly hard-floor homes.
Which pick is best for long-haired pets?
The Saros 20 and Dreame L60 Ultra PE both measured 0% hair wrap in Vacuum Wars testing. RTINGS says long hair tangles more easily on the Z70.
Are the cheaper picks worth it?
The Z70 and L60 Ultra PE cost far less than the flagships. The Z70 suits clutter and the L60 Ultra PE suits carpet, but expect weaker mopping from the Dreame.
Bottom line
For most pet owners with mixed floors, the Roborock Saros 20 is the most complete answer, if the flagship price fits. The Saros Z70 and Dreame L60 Ultra PE deliver much of the same hair-handling for far less money. The L60 Ultra PE is the better choice for carpet and the Z70 is the better choice for a cluttered floor. Choose the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete for low furniture and the Narwal Flow 2 only if your home is mostly hard floors. Prices change often, so check current listings before you buy.
