What to know about Hatch Hatch Baby (successor to Rest 2nd Gen)

Hatch's current app-controlled sound machine, night light and Time-to-Rise toddler clock. It replaces the discontinued Rest 2nd Gen and Rest+. Best for parents who want to change schedules from their phone and use one device from the newborn stage through the big-kid years.

Why we like it

The app makes it easy to set different weekday, weekend and nap times, and to change them as your child's sleep shifts. Hatch says Time-to-Rise, Time-for-Bed and basic lights and sounds stay free without the Hatch+ subscription. The clock display is off by default, which helps keep the room dark.

It also works as a sound machine and night light from the newborn stage, so one purchase can cover years. It scores almost level with Mella overall.

What to know

Skip it if you want a no-phone, no-Wi-Fi setup or a cue a toddler can read at a glance.
