The PFAS-free ceramic version of Cuisinart's long-running Round Classic. It makes one thin, crisp, roughly 6.5-inch American-style waffle in four sections, with a 5-setting browning control and ready lights. The earlier WMR-CA was Wirecutter's former budget pick and Reviewed's Best Classic. This NAS version adds a ceramic plate footnoted 'No intentionally added PFAS'. Best budget classic-style pick.

Cuisinart describes a 'PFAS-free ceramic nonstick plate' footnoted 'No intentionally added PFAS', and Target lists it as PFAS-free and BPA-free. It is among the cheapest options here and carries a limited 3-year warranty, which is rare at this price.

The earlier WMR-CA won praise from Wirecutter and Reviewed, but it used conventional nonstick. The ceramic version has no independent test, so treat the praise as a sign of the design, not a verdict on the new plate.

What to know

Skip it if you want thick Belgian waffles or removable plates. Make sure you buy the 'NAS' model, since the older WMR-CA is not the ceramic version.
